About: Theme-based projects and literacy-based learning: Discovering NYC in 35 days.

Activities include arts and crafts, dance, sports and recreation, weekly trips to NYC sites, computers, and special events. A talent showcase takes place on the last day of camp.

Project COOL Summer Day Camp
Location:

Ages: 6-12

Cost:   $300 per camper

$250 P.S. 15 students

            Wednesday, April 16th 4:30 – 5:30 pm

All registration will take place at P.S. 15: 333 East 4th Street (btw Ave C & Ave D). Please bring $50 non-refundable deposit, birth certificate, parent/guardian ID, immunization records, Department of Health Physical Form.

 

About: Grand Street Settlement Summer Day Camp at P.S.15 fuels the imaginations of Lower East Side children through cultural exploration and summer essentials like swimming, outdoor excursions, art and picnics!

 

Activities include: Three trips per week, swimming, sports,  project-based learning and literacy, Computer Technology, Art, Camp t-shirts and backpacks, Special Events, Food, And much, much more...

Creative Leadership Teen Camp

Location: 80 Pitt Street, New York, NY

Dates: July 7th – August 15th, 2008

Ages: 12-17

Cost: $125 for current Grand Street Settlement participants and 2007 summer camp participants. All other youth: $150.

Registration:  Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:00pm.

                        Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30 – 10:30am.

                      

About: This is an educational/service learning camp where participants have the option to choose groups such as: dance, drama, music production, visual arts or culinary. Breakup of the camp is by group not age, and the campers spend their 7 camp weeks working on projects based on these specific groups. At the end of the summer camper show off their hard work at Grand Street Settlement’s 2nd annual Youth Day Showcase. 

 

Campers will take weekly trips to places such as Great Adventure, Dorney Park, Villa Nova University for a leadership Day, Astro Land, and many other sites throughout Manhattan i.e. a cooking school for culinary group, museums for art group etc. Camp also includes technology time as well as recreational time.

 

New to 2008 is a 6 week basketball summer clinic and mini tournament with special acknowledgments.

 

A secondary component to the camp is the Summer Youth Leadership Group which allocates 30 slots for SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program) participants to enables participants to go through leadership training and do community service projects including organization of Youth Day.
