Direct Services: Full – Time $33k annually; full benefits & 401K;

(mon – Fri & occassional Saturdays: must be flexible with work hours 10-6/ 11-7/ 12-8)

 

PROGRAM SUMMARY

 

 Project S.O.L. [Speak Out Loud]: Advocacy Services for LGBT Youth,   their families & communities

Provide a safe, supportive space in which youth & young adults can explore their feelings, learn communication skills and gain a sense of self-identity, and develop self-esteem.

Promote leadership development & skill building

Provide a nurturing environment to assist LGBTQ youth and their families

To educate the community on LGBTQ awareness

 

Job summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation and implementation of the Health & Human Services for LGBTQ youth, families and communities Initiative. 

 

 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS REQUIREMENT

Knowledge of and extreme comfort with LGBTQ issues necessary

Bachelors degree required (psychology, social work/ counseling)

Ability to engage young people and adults in educational activities

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong sense of staff-client boundaries

Good problem solving skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Must be detail oriented and have the ability to demonstrate good follow through skills

Excellent computer skills (MS Word/Excel)

Knowledge of URS, SPSS, PEMS and ACCESS

Good verbal and written communication skills

Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish)

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

Case management of program participants

Conduct individual and group counseling to program participants

Assist with single stop benefits intake and referrals (as well as referral tracking)

Supervise program participants

Implement and facilitate  activities and support groups for program participants and their families

Assist with street outreach

Attend all necessary trainings and conferences for program effectiveness

Ensure that goals, objectives, and contract deliverables of all contracts and grants requirements for program are met and documented accurately (monthly reports, data entry, etc).
