Job Summary: Works in partnership with parents to strengthen
the home as a learning environment and develop appropriate child and family
development experiences. Facilitate access to other EHS services, including
health, mental health, and nutrition to children and their families through
regular home visits and group socializations.
Education Experience and Skill
Requirements:
·
30
college credits in Human Development or Early Childhood Education or a related
field
·
Good verbal and written communication skills,
including basic computer skills
·
Commitment
to complete Family Development Credential within two years
·
Ability
to use public transportation and travel independently
· Bilingual English/CHINESE required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes but not
limited to:
·
Providing child
development and family services in accordance with Early Head Start Home- Based
regulations
·
Plan for and
scheduling weekly 90-minute home visits in partnership with parents/ guardians,
incorporating all Head Start components
·
Assist family in
developing ways to use household resources in providing learning experiences
for children
·
Maintain flexible 35-
hour schedule, including some evenings and/ or Saturdays
·
Maintain and report
weekly schedule including recordkeeping, participant contact and recruitment
activities
·
Maintain all necessary
family records in accordance with Head Start regulations and agency procedures
and completion of assigned reports in a timely manner
·
Assist families in
accessing and utilizing community resources, including arranging transportation
when necessary
·
Work collaboratively
with supervisor and program specialists (health, nutrition, mental health and
developmental specialists) to ensure achievement of family goals
·
Maintain a caseload of
approximately 12 families
·
Participate in ongoing
professional development activities, training and supervision
·
Active, ongoing
participation in program recruitment and intake efforts
· In collaboration with other Home Visitors and the Education Manger, planning and executing developmentally- appropriate socialization and parent events for enrolled families
· Work collaboratively with the teacher, other program staff and supervisor to ensure Early Head Start and Grand Street Settlement goals and objectives are met.
· Ability to lift 35 pounds
· Other duties as assigned
